Slowly did
gentle winds
guide white puffy clouds
drifting across an azure
sky,
as I sat on a shaded bench
dreamily watching
each one sailing by,
at first imagining different
shapes, forms or objects,
until
unaware of time,
my mind now so relaxed
was carried along strange
paths, somehow dwelling
on abundant wishes
in earlier times made,
that were
suddenly now coming to mind.
Yes, I had
wished for
affection and love
finding an exceptional mate,
having
good luck, happiness,
being well off, making it,
contributing my working
effort
to a worthwhile cause,
maintaining my health,
keeping my
spirituality,
sharing a happy family,
traveling to far off places
seeing what was to be seen,
living among different folk
learning
about them and
learning about me.
Most of you,
harbor wishes too,
they may be hidden in your heart and mind,
your
wishes changing along with
circumstance and time,
your list may be long
or short,
close to home or far away,
unique and special as each you are
endless the combined list for us
as numerous the wishes,
as there
are stars.
Do our
wishes have some validity
in the vast scheme of things,
the very fact
that they reside
in our minds and thoughts,
establishes that they indeed
do exist
and 'Yes', because of that
they have relevancy
in the vast
scheme of things.
