UNDULATING LOVE

Our love like waves gently rolling in,
kissing the sand on the awaiting beach,
flow as rhythmic as predictable tides
soft, mild, gentle when the sun is high
with diminishing balmy, calm breezes.

Our love too, on occasion mirrors nature
as winds accelerate, causing rising waves
which whip white caps into frothy foam
that crest high and come crashing down
dictated by the size or severity of the storm.

Our love responds to the passing front,
as the undulating sea becalms, coalesces,
rough seas once more to calm serenity return
all is as it was meant to be, restored by nature,
just as our hearts, our loves triumph and overcome.
