TRADITION

Born of times ancient
by group, clan, or tribe
eventually growing into
societal norms advancing
with civilization continuing
its refinements, embellishments
from oral tradition
to accepted, traditonal ways.

Traditions early on as
teachings by great men
prophets, philosophers,
great individuals in all walks of life
who, through their students,
disciples, followers, believers
established traditions, ways of living,
accepted norms in almost all
categories of life.

True it is that our customs
our traditions vary from
land to land, people to people
as traditions historically evolved
differently intended for those so designed
variations that even in our modern days
have great impact upon events in our time.

Though we are humans all
we have and continue to be
taught differently
perhaps thus making somewhat
of a mockery of one peoples,
one world and yet
the forces of science and technology
mandate global strategies
that have already begun to
overide our traditional ways
leaving one to wonder
will humanity be able to progress
despite its traditional base.
