There were times when you were happy
there were times when you were sad,
there were times when you were sorry
times you were confused, perplexed,
times of anguish, times of pain,
of pleasure, of ecstasy, of acclaim,
times of learning, production, gain,
 of leisure, relaxation, time spent in vain.

There were times for choices as to
whom to date, choosing your mate
how many times to procreate,
choosing friends, finding ways
where to live, where to work, where to play,
choices by the minute, choices by the day
times for choices to go or stay.

The times were yours to set
the choices yours to make
the right choices at the right time
were the ones that set you straight,
but then again mistakes were made
perfection not known as a human trait,
one errs, one learns through their mistake,
times and choices, still yours to make.
