TIME WARP

Your concerns are well founded
for I am fully cognizant of my racing heart
that propels my overwhelming desire
relentlessly toward the goal of unification
keenly aware of obstacles strategically placed
which need to be circumvented
lest they cause a calamitous result
in our budding but promising relation.

One of the primary encumbrances then
is the speed, the intensity, the depth that
seems to have gained flight altitude momentum
when in fact the passenger
is still on the tarmac waiting,
making up her mind as to whether or not
to board the plane, thus undertaking a possibly
hazardous permanent life journey.

Prior to taking that first step then,
assurances are required of the
flight worthiness of the plane;
is it certified to reach
its given objective, its destination;
will it sustain itself not only in weather fair
but also under adverse conditions
yes, even critical ones such as
in a worse case scenario.

Much more important though
to the overall success of the flight plan and mission
is the Captain in charge, the Commander of the plane;
has he the proper experience and qualifications
to cope with, resolve, elude the winds and storms
of life threatening situations, has he in fact
experienced these before and was still able
to bring his craft to safety despite all odds.

Valid questions needing answers
when viewed on the plane of life;
studious care, consideration to be given
in a logic oriented environment
lest emotions take the reins
leading all hopelessly astray
the harbinger of total disaster.

Time out, and calm are needed to sort out
the equation prior to boarding the plane,
carefully weighing the risks and chances
that may lie in ambush waiting for
the unprepared, unsuspecting prey
that carelessly without much thinking
would, with gay abandon, stride
into harms way, never knowing
what really happened
that very fateful day.
