TANNENBAUM
(Fir Tree)

Lush the evergreen forest preserve
song of pine branches on wings of wind
refreshingly scented aroma of pine needles
pine cones decorating trees and ground
peaceful, relaxing, exhilarating, beautiful,
high the mountain, sunny the cloudless sky
sparkling brook flowing to blue Mesa Lake
tranquility, calm, harmony, Nature's way,
rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels freely roam
we are truly intruders in their natural home.

Perhaps the peace and stately nature of the tree
carried over into a symbol of Holiday cheer
celebrated in many lands far and wide
to the delight of adults and children alike
who like to select, take home and prepare
with decorations, ornaments, and colored lights
a festive, beautiful, adored, star crowned sight
bringing togetherness, love, and tenderness
to all who extend their spirits and hearts this night.
