Excited
music lovers eagerly
gathered
for the opening of
the
new Symphony Season in
a full
packed local auditorium
this
memorable concert eve as
the
program advanced to its
featured
presentation, a well
known
piano concerto with an
internationally
famous pianist
thrilled
the engrossed listeners
repeatedly
with his expertise.
As
the notes ebbed and flowed
beautifully
filling all sound, my
relaxed
thoughts touched upon
the
land of birth of the composer,
to
the city where he spent his life,
to
Aud a senior cyberfriend from
there,
recalling the majesty of the
fiord
nearby, her childhood on the
farm
by the large inlet, her young
experiences
under German occupation,
close
submarine pens, bombing raids,
a school
demolished by an errant bomb,
much
collateral damage and many deaths
somehow,
just as in the composer's music
all
was eventually overcome, life went on,
peace
returned, the composition ended;
roaring,
repeated, standing applause we
gladly
look forward to our own Symphony's
next
monthly promising musical presentation.
