STRANGER
I
too am a stranger
on the shore
of the sea of love,
wondering what
fate
would have in store for me
were I to gather my courage,
trust my
instinct and
simply sail off.
Sorely am I tempted to do so
yet there is an inner caution
holding
me in place,
not releasing me to go -
the more I am restrained
the more
anxious I become,
the beckoning ocean
the far reaching
horizon
desperate am I to sail
not yet, I fear I will fail.
Suddenly, as out of nowhere,
a voice familiar with cheer
taking my
hand to join me
no more need to tarry my dear,
let us weigh anchor
set
all sail
turn full rudder
head out the channel
to the sea of
love
where mild breezes
the fresh sea air stirs
cleansing our minds and
hearts
together to face all challenges
no longer a stranger on the
shore.
