STRANGE COINCIDENCE

(A Valentine Mirage)

Slender, well trained the fingers

that hold vital brushes in hand

selected with great skill and care

mixed colors blended just so rare

on a well used unlimited palette -

deft strokes applied broad or fine,

to new blank canvass, anticipating

the transformation of what it is, that

the artist has envisioned in her mind.

The hues, shades and colors slowly taking form

are indicative that there is more than the norm,

for these are reflective of the warmth and beauty

gracing the heart of the artist, now streaming forth

as she with loving patience, adroitness and ability

composes, creates, her new piece of innovative work.

Her art, so pure, lively, engaging

inadvertently caught my attention,

for though as poet I am limited to words

which fall far short of the power of the artist,

even though selected with care and meaning,

I grace my poems with art and illustration,

and thus stumbled innocently upon this Artist

one of wonderful, rich, new artistic creations

who graciously granted permission to use her art.

Perhaps there is some kindred artistry at work

as each creates, that which best reflects their heart,

it would be nice to have a loving spirit in this world

that would represent an enchanting Valentine Mirage.
