Now as then it was a smash
as the Grand Mesa Chorus
Sweet Adelines presented a
bodacious version of a play
that has long charmed us all.

6 November 2004, a night of
music, song and dance at
our renovated Avalon now
fully packed with anticipated
citizens both young and old as
the curtain rose on, "When The
Showboat Came To Town."

Affirmative the expectation
the varied cast did their best
the choreography excelled
costumes just made perfect
vocals and  solos overwhelm
an appreciative audience in
attentive, whimsical rapture
with wild applause at the end
civic pride in Grand Junction
as rightfully just reward.
