SEVENTH MONTH

The Lord of the Gems,
King of precious stones
rare, hard and beautiful
providing protective powers
attests to those born since 44 BC
under the Roman calendar month of Julius
so named for Julius Caius Caesar
that indeed they may be likened
to the kings and queens of the Zodiac
for it is the month during
which the sun enters the sign of Leo
containing the bright star Regulus.
