PONDERING

As you in your slumber lay
a most unusual dream you had
for suddenly you knew
the number of stars in the firmament
of trees in all forests stand
yeah even the grains of sand
all the numbers in the world
you thought that was
all empowering, wonderful
you had the answer to everything
dreaming further, you happily wondered
wishing to know about just one
the one who means most to you
the one you truly love
now, you thought, I'll find out everything
but lo and behold
you drew a complete blank
taken aback you wondered how that could be
for in truth all the numbers you knew
then suddenly you realized
numbers do not apply to one's heart
you'll have to have another dream to solve that.
