PLEASANTRIES

Be it known to all
that every now and then
we are each and everyone
entitled to either a big or small event
that make us feel good inside
uplift us, put a smile on our face
usually quite unexpected
but most definitely
a happy event.

A hug, a pat, a kind word said
an unexpected call from a long lost friend
an award, a certificate
a home baked cake
an excited toddlers voice
at the other end
a stranger's courtesy
an unexpected compliment
a lost love rekindled
a baby's first breath
yes, endless the list
just take time to reflect
you surely have been the recipient
of such a blessed event.
