PERCOLATOR

Drip, drip, drip
we percolate through life,
whether we like our brew
strong or weak, is largely up to us.

It all depends on how much mix we put in
whether we like it hot or cold,
do we like it straight or,
do we add sweetener or cream.

Our tastes, our preferences
we reflect our lives to suit ourselves,
sometimes we take it straight, while
at other times we add ingredients,
to make things more complex.

Hot, cold, icy,
all tend at times to suit
our taste of life,
yet after repeated fill of the cup
we are no longer satisfied.

Some might try a new brew
before once more, we fill the cup,
eventually our well runs dry,
do we make another pot or,
have we had it, do we just give up.

Drip, drip, drip
the answer I think I have,
drip, drip, drip
the alternate for me,
is simply a switch to tea.
