Like
almost everyone we know
sooner or later it
will be time to go,
our lives over in a
flash or perhaps a dash
just over how we
leave we have little control,
what may be of
concern to most of us though
is not our material
possessions we leave as show,
but rather the aura
of our legacy that we have sown.
We may
not be the movers and shakers of the world
leaders of all sorts
in many fields that rule and captivate,
leaving their imprint
on the field of history for good or bad
or, as it is with
most, soon fading from our collective memory,
except
the elite few, the very best and the very worst,
for
these as outstanding examples we tend to recall,
praising
their achievements or condemning their ruthless
control.
Let us
instead think more of the ordinary 'us',
the vast majority
that make up humankind,
when time comes to
go, what would we like to leave behind,
good impressions of
us, our intentions may well be
outstanding persons
with matching personalities,
yet, what will others
really think of us, in actuality -
there may still be
time to change our Ethical Will
to more properly
reflect what we really want it to mean.
