They let me in at Rensselaer
to become a systems engineer
don't know how I made it here
Dad said, study hard, no beer.

Share a room at Hall Dorm
it's not exactly my norm
my roommate sleeps on high
I'm floor bound, my style.

Food's not bad, lots to eat
different times and places
sampling a variety of treat
long open hours, what a feat.

Made some nice friends
enjoy good camaraderie
wish for more free time
too much to study, it's fine.

Passed my first semester
second one is going faster
planning for my next year
hope that in another three
I'll finish my RPI degree
what relief to dad that'll be.
