MY LADY

Beautiful sparkling eyes
emit the rays of your soul
a smooth brow
your wisdom does not show
curved lips smiling just so right
embellished with perfect teeth of white
cheeks with a hint of reddish glow
all that, with bountiful hair adorning
your presence of glamour and love.

My Lady, I must confess
that though your outer shell is most exquisite
much more beautiful is your inner self,
a personality of traits consistent with
a kind, gentle, compassionate, supportive,
giving, understanding warmth
that freely flows unendingly forth
engulfing those around with
a feeling of light and goodness
that they have never felt before
My Lady, your presence we all adore.

With that said, My Lady
my fondest wish would be
for you to be able to take my hand in yours
hold it close to your most precious heart
while our eyes each other read
with gentle smiles now more pronounced
a very subtle nod the assent gives
permitting me to offer you my love
for now and for eternity.
