-MIRROR-
Coated
glass reflections
In our mirror we do see
An image of our likeness
Of our resemblance
Perhaps pleased are we.
What
is it that we really see
The dynamics of vision
Through optical interpretation
Would have us believe that
Our one dimensional semblance
Is indeed a true self replication.
Our
thoughts adjust, flesh out our shadow
Give body, emotion, spirit to our simulation
That in turn coveys an impression upon us
Indicating qualities of purpose and character
Some lofty, faultless, unimpaired, unblemished
While others perhaps more realistically inclined
See some imperfection, some deficiencies that come to mind.
Mirror,
mirror let truth be known
Mock me not nor distort what you see
Reveal to me my true actuality
Allow me thus to correct my inadequacies
For I know there is no such thing as true perfection.
