MIND, HEART AND SOUL

How can I know you

Though I know you so well.

Is it that I do not really know

Yet, I thought I knew all along.

Will I ever learn to know

Your mind

Your heart

Your soul.

No, I do not think so

For I think no one

Will ever know.

What is a mind,

What is a thought;

Fleeting seconds

Ever changing

Compiling, merging,

Analyzing, evaluating

A billion neuron maze

To interpret what transpires there.

How can I know,

How can anyone;

Then how can I think

That I really know you.

As if that were not enough

Of a tough riddle to crack,

Then what of your feelings,

What of your heart.

Is it not often said,

That what is in your heart

Is not always in your head;

That the cold logic of the mind

Does not the warm heart reflect.

Then once more, how can I think

That I really know you.

What is a soul,

Is it to be seen

Is it to be felt,

An entity so

Mysterious and powerful

Yet, we all have it;

Sacred, awesome, divine

Driving us; the spirit of our

Collective sub-conscious.

Now, how can I think

That I really know you.

How can anyone ever know

What thoughts, feelings and spirits

Constitute the whole, of your unique

Mind, Heart and Soul.
