This
trait lies within most of us
in varying degrees
of devotion,
for we are faithful
to a number
of ideals, causes,
lands, faiths
employers, teams, individuals.
Family
loyalty seeks commitment
faithfulness, honesty,
attachment
together with fidelity,
truthfulness
so that trust, steadfastness,
hope
brings unity of purpose
and love.
Loyalty
of friends and friendship
highly revered by us
as important
a means to shed our
experiences
companionship, empathy,
solace,
forgiving, magnanimous,
priceless.
Yet,
if we personally falter or shirk
in any of the above
characteristics
our ties, bonds, allegiance,
suffers
slowly or abruptly
damage ensues
too late, irreversible,
our mistakes.
