LOVE’S THREAD
Love hangs thin
Akin to a spider line
Countless times in danger
Of being broken, destroyed in anger.
A fragile thread
In need of constant care,
Nurtured and strengthened
Avoiding attempted destruction.
Young love in bloom
Sees no danger of doom
True love in joy thus spun
Unknown difficulties not yet begun.
With love thus committed
Life’s problems enter the scene
Many are minor some lead to screams
Love’s line so delicate, stressed it seems.
Years later maturity sets in
Though weakened, battered, tested
The amazing line has not been bested
Indeed duress countered with strong resolve
Strengthened love’s line to hold an entire lifetime.
