LIMITED POWERS
Many
often feel constrained
In what they can or cannot do
Due to the action of others
Which preclude or limit them.
Societies
naturally have laws
That in most instances protect
The rights of their members
Insured for fairness by courts.
There
are various levels of laws
Such as National, State, County,
Municipal, to name just a few,
Which may vary or be inconsistent.
This
too then may affect
The individual’s power
To exercise their will or
May add limits their power.
Conflicting
laws at various levels
As well as those passed to favor
A smaller group or sub-section
May result in overall resentment.
Perceived
injustices by the populace
Can be addressed mainly by each
Through the ballot box, petitions
Or by an appeal to the court system.
Basic
Individual Rights as
Reflected in our Bill of Rights
Our Constitution and laws
Provide each of us with a
Vast array of individual power.
