LEGACY

Our legacy bequeathed us
in waves of time
throughout our brief existence
from pre biblical pre historic days
to those of more recorded ancient ones
resplendent with sages, men of wisdom, of renown
composers, artist, writers, visionaries
exemplary figures in all walks of endeavor
found in all nooks and crannies
of mankind, everywhere.

In our brief span of time
the sunshine of our legacy
has too often been overshadowed
by dark horrors of history
brought about largely due to the
baseness, cruelty of man against man
led by ignorance as the main ingredient
stubborn embedded timeless traits
which to this date have not as yet been eliminated.

All of us are contributors
builders to our future legacy
to be bestowed, handed down
to generations yet unborn
our continuing rapid biotechnological advances
mandate that the mantle of enlightenment
be bestowed upon all those yet unborn
lest as we advance in the exploration,
colonization of celestial planetary bodies
humankind join as a partner of all
or otherwise face a potentially devastating disaster.
