KEYS

Keys that open latches
keys that open doors
keys to the Kingdom
keys to the atom
keys to secrets
keys to the Universe
keys to unlocking the
mystery of life
keys to Heaven
all none as difficult as
the key to unlock
your closed heart

Your heart now closed
sealed to intrusion
insulated, isolated, unattainable
yet, perhaps through
chemistry not yet identified
can indeed once more
be opened, as it has before
with an elusive, mysterious
burst of loving energy
administered in just the
right proportion at just
the exact right time

How then does one fashion
the key to your heart
how then does one know
when the time is perfect
for the attempt,
what the proper ingredients are -
certainly it is not steel or metal,
nor any physical ingredient
known to man
yet it has been done before
it may be done again
surely true love plays an important part
trust, respect and commitment
likely ingredients are
the time is not possible
to judge by looking into your eyes
for one through looks
cannot penetrate a closed heart
the effort can only be made
with assured success
when the lady herself is ready
to open her heart
