JEALOUSY

It is so hard for many

To forgive and forget

A deeply wounded heart

Trying desperately

To heal itself

Of damage done by jealousy.

Our thoughts wonder

Ever more enmeshed,

Between the worlds of

Fact and fantasy

Until that which is,

Is no more and

That which was, is.

With our judgment thus impaired

Our clouded logic most unclear

Injured by our painful heart

Imaginary or real,

We try to steer

Our ship of faith

Through the broiling seas

Of jealousy.

Will we ever learn to accept

The most private needs of

Those that we are most jealous of,

No matter what the consequence

To our personal relationship,

Without the rancid malevolent

Reactions blindly inflicted

Upon ourselves, by uncontrolled

Rages of jealousy.
