Autumn leaves have finished falling
colder northern breezes chill the air
joyous holidays have come and gone
a new year anxious to follow the old,
surprisingly quickly does it all happen
oh swiftly the light of life does glow.

In many ways, in many shades do we
view the hues and colors of the fresh
new year our hopes and dreams given
new impetus, renewed enthusiasm to
overcome, improve, advance ourselves
to look forward to as good or a better
year than one we have just completed.

Some contemplation, self examination
is a necessity if one is to reflect upon
ways to achieve that which has eluded
us, meditating, perceiving, realizing,
understanding what went remiss, awry a
deep personal introspection may suffice.
