INSPIRATION

As I sit down

and close my eyes,

slowly relax my body

to clear my mind,

I begin to drift afar

from everyday fare

as my mind begins

to wander without care.

Wistful clouds above a

huge blue sky,

Pines and evergreens

among mountains high,

Rushing streams with

white water spray,

Nature's dreams

of bygone days.

Perhaps it was a

weather beaten face,

A chance encounter,

an enlightening day,

Something that was said

a timeless item read

An event, a gathering,

speech, sermon it really

could have been

anyone of these

or anything at all.

Yet in that fleeting moment,

at just the very right time

when the mind is most at ease,

deep in its most inner recesses

a hidden thought races by

and is as if by magic caught,

a revelation, an inspiration

just as natural to me,

as why haven't I had

this same thought before.
