Once
upon a late night movie
As
I sat there drinking a smoothie
There
was a clamor at my door.
"'Tis
only the pizza guy at my door, " I proclaimed,
"With
my pizza and nothing more."
I
went to see what was at my door,
And
behold the terror that was the pizza guy!
He said, "The cost is $6.94"
He
said it with such frightful dread
That
I jumped back and hit my head.
I
cautiously reached into my pocket,
But
my hand instead found the electrical socket!
The
pain came quick and sharp,
But
it failed to completely stop my heart.
I
wish I had.
The pizza guy repeated, "$6.94"
He
seemed to be close to screaming
And
reached out his hand with meaning
I
gave him his $6.94,
But
he continued to stand at the door!
I
said, "What, do you want some honey?"
He
returned what I gave him saying, "I'd believe that's
play
money."
And repeated, "$6.94"
I
really quite wished him gone
But
he continued to look on
With
a look of infinite patience
As
if he would wait for the last 4 cents.
I
couldn't take it anymore
And
so I proceeded to slam the door.
Forget
his $6.94!
And
yet, he is still out there waiting,
For
his precious, $6.94.
