Memories are golden
And golden is the past
Watch the autumn leaves fall
While they still last
So long does the sky fall
Gliding overhead
Spotted with silky clouds
In remembrance of the dead
Under this rainbow bridge
I watch the daylight fade away
Blocked out from my vision
Of buildings painted gray
Sweet, sweet motherland
Can’t you lead me somewhere?
For years I’ve followed paths
Leading to cold deserts, bare
Why can’t humanity sing
A softer lullaby?
Just a classic rhythm
To calm us when we cry
Dusk falls swiftly
Like a curtain navy blue…
This new world of mine
Is now a darker hue
Why-----
Can’t we stand…
Upon-----
This melting land?
Silence my words
Slicing through eternity
Numb and deaf I sing
Yet still I do not see
We have done ourselves wrong
Committing a crime
For years spreading
Leading us to our prime
Savor childhood
When we were still so young
Life is a ladder;
Each year is a rung
