SATURN RING
cherry
bands stretched across
the black surface of the galaxy
orange rinds discarded
into a deep void.
lemon peels thrown onto
a rotting, blackened lawn.
but to
me, it's just a ring
my grandma's ring.
a ring passed down to my mom.
down to me.
my ring now,
someone's ring later.
fire annihilating
the
once green grass
desert dust spreading
across unexplored regions.
sunlight splattered over
dusty, glossy stained glass.
but to
me, it's just plastic.
my grandma's plastic.
plastic passed down to my mom.
down
to me.
my plastic now,
someone's plastic later.
Perhaps
it's more than a ring.
Perhaps it's more than plastic.
Perhaps it has some history.
...Perhaps it's...
not worth thinking about.
