gladiolus & zinnias:
She dreamed rainbows,
watered them with tears.
long after the eviction,
she would come back
to the dirty apartment patio
& water the flowers
while fog circled the moon.
when the land lady asked why
she responded quietly
"because i dreamed them
beautiful."
