A wispy
gray outline
high on the horizon
at dusk on a June
eve
clouds passing underneath
steadily the shape filled
in
to where after time
all gray could be
seen
as between the clouds
every now and
then
the full moon looked in
as it slowly
traversed
traces of gold mixed in
till at full
sunset
the now bright gold moon
illuminated the
darkening sky
bidding night stars for
company.
As with
the moon
at first shadowy and
oblique
so it is with your heart
somewhat distant and
faint
yet as the day wanes
normal routines
fade
glimmers of warm thoughts
begin to illuminate
you heart
until it too its opaque shape
sheds
now blooming into full view
warm, radiant,
reaching out
seeking that which is in your
grasp
wishing to find that other
heart
waiting, longing for your
touch
wishing to join your heart
as the moon joined
the stars.
