Why am I alive
Because I was born
How did I get to be alive
We’re still trying desperately
To figure that one out
Suffice it to say
Someone gently slapped your rear
When you were pulled out
What am I
A human being
Either female or male
What is a human being
Too difficult to fully explain
Let’s just say several billion
Cells, neurons, genes, organs
Goodness we could write books about that
Wow, who made all that stuff
Who put it all together so it works
We don’t have a finite answer for that
If we did our world as we know it would collapse
What am I supposed to do here
What’s my purpose, why was I born
Good question
There are as many answers to that
As there are people asking that same question
In short, no one really knows, so there
What makes me happy
What makes me sad
What makes me moody
What makes me mad
Oh well lump it all under
emotions and feelings
What – what are they
Can you see them, touch them, hold them
Nope, sorry to say but
Everything you do
Either is determined or driven by them
You mean they control my actions
Well, in an oversimplified way, yes they do
I heard someone say I love you
What’s love
Oh good gracious you would have to ask that
It’s very complicated, has to do with
Feelings, emotions, hormones
Plus a whole slew of other factors
Just know it’s been there since primal times
Very important, most people pay a lot of attention to it,
Well that’s all the time I have
To answer your questions today
I’m sure you can’t make a lot of sense out of them
But then, neither can I.
