FOOTSIE ON THE LOOSE
There were smiles all around
As all arrangements were found
For someone charming, well known
To soon board a Jet, not quite alone
You see, Momsie was the chaperon,
Heading off for a far distant land
Providing a needed helping hand
To a younger sister who planned
Together their new family to expand
By adding a baby to the homeland.
Momsie and Auntie were bilingual
But Footsie an American was unable
To fluently chat, that was unacceptable,
So she was registered to a local school
Where she quickly learned a new tool,
Six weeks later she had her class in tow
Her peers turned early taunts into cheers
She had learned to conquer their hearts-
Now Footsie had fun with her counterparts
Most wanting to be her lifelong sweethearts.
True too, everywhere she went
People instinctively wanted to be her friend,
She had fun being adored, none wanted her ignored
Especially her other uncles and aunts who implored
With many acts of kindness, friendship and rewards
Insisting she revisit again and stay longer with them.
Footsie, quite sharp for her age of
eight
Knows how to size up people straight,
How to converse almost bilingually
Hold one’s attention magnetically,
Speak with logic that belies her age
Get right to the heart of the matter,
One can only wonder what she will
Be like when she is thrice her age.
