FONDNESS

Written it was simply, eloquently,
I feel that you are fond of me and I of you,
yet powerful the words denoting
respect, sensitivity, affection, caring,
coupled with tenderness, warmth,
adorned with friendship, compatibility,
resulting in desire for further affinity,
closer attachment, a desire for longing,
a yearning for closeness, bonding,companionship,
hoping that our honest relationship may yet turn
to trust, dedication, commitment, loyalty
thus further stoking our sensibilities
with enthusiasm, passion, romance,
till we have reached an upper inspirational level
where jointly we have transcended
from fondness to fervent love.
