Had I not searched the world
scoured, combed Continents
till one day in a far off land
hidden deep in a megalopolis
I found you, extended my hand
then brought you back with me
happily, to form a new family -
cultural, societal, chronological
chasms, eventually took their toll
 friends we parted fate in control.

Another year, a different quest
a charming lady at my behest
filed applications which approved
gave us permission to make a move
yet near the end, a change of mind
as she left me at the tarmac, behind.

Once more a new friend from afar
of a gracious, wise, logical bend
some years known via cyberland
a visit last March hand in hand
we toured our southwestern land
this year a repeat visit as a friend
we'll take the rails, tour our Land
a lucky, happy time for us to end
our visit, it is hard to comprehend
that this may portent to be our end.
