FAREWELL RITA
So sad your speedy departure
As Family, loved ones attested,
Lauding your numerous virtues
Enumerating wit, optism, cheer
Stemming from a generous heart
Promise of remembrance from all.
Yet, less than fingers on a hand
Knew of our special friendship,
Sunny days driving out of town
Admiring steep canyons, rivers,
Lunching in quaint small towns,
The many times I called for you
To see concerts, shows, theater,
Or spend quiet time in the house.
Then, there was a special day
When we met in a parking lot
You stepped out of your car,
A rarer two door white jeep
Came to me smiling and said,
" I suppose you want a kiss"
Then promptly gave me one,
Yes, Rita you will always be
Remembered, loved by me.
