As our sun is essential to life
without it all would whither
so too is the love radiating
enveloping me from your heart
a vital necessity for my being
the air we breathe
the food we eat
requirements for our existence
your kind words,
understanding, empathy
sustenance, nourishment
to keep my soul living
your bonding, commitment
the lubricant of our love
your honesty, faithfulness
the rivers, sees, oceans
of our joint journey as one
through the valleys of happiness
and the shadows of despair
that we are sure to overcome.
