AN ENCOUNTER
I met a goddess
near the sea today
beautiful
beyond belief,
with stars
for her eyes
and ebony
hair
that gently
waved in the breeze.
"Oh goddess"
asked I,
"please
speak to me"
and speak
to me she did;
with voice
so gentle
and words
so wise,
she told
me a tale
of a far
distant land
that was
both sad and gay;
and when
all was told
I humbly
said,
"Dearest
goddess, I'll remember you, always".
