DESPERATE

Stalking its prey
desperate for food
the cat using all senses
in silence hunts, ready to pounce
following Nature's instincts
as an expert born predator.

Yes, we too can be desperate
in an emotional way
to hunt and find our love
using our senses plus
all the means at our command
with great skill and
some good luck
success is gained
we found our love.

What then if due to
some unknown cause
our new found love
finds reasons to object
to question, to hesitate -
our emotional state may
become threatened, desperate
do we attempt to regain
her love, her confidence
hoping she will recant
revoke her decision
in most instances a true effort made
to regain a love
that has almost been lost.
