CYBERMAIL
How quite amusing
the mind of man
when paid postage first introduced,
the Austrian empire
used Mercury
as its stamp design,
suggesting mail delivery
at speed of
light,
most refer to it as "snail mail"
in our time.
Progress through
technology
has opened the doors
of our homes and minds,
where our
words now borne
on winds of electronic speed,
zipping like bolts of
lightning
from server to satellite
to all corners of our world,
permit
almost instant contact
with family, friends, strangers
alike.
Quickly have we
adopted
to these new devices,
with untold improvements
even now on
the horizon -
with millions of round
the clock transactions,
we
fill the air with trillions
of bits and bytes representing
every aspect of
our civilization.
On a personal
scale
most are happy to meet,
exchange ideas, information,
learn of
new cultures -
yes, many are privy to the
hopes, dreams, cares,
concerns, desires of others,
even romance and love
have found a
niche,
many a bond has thus resulted
or life time friendships
solidly
ensconed.
