We hope and sometimes pray
that we would be given opportunities
that things would work out for us, as we say,
we try to help as best we can in every way
hoping that sooner than later it will be the day
that we succeed, our wish granted, it will stay
but in many cases we are slow to recognize it
act on it, lose our chances, drive our wish away,
some do know when it is here but are fraught with fear
unable to accept it, they may have impediments that block it
yet no matter how near and dear they cannot resolve it.

So folks the next time you work hard, hope and pray
succeed in having the chance to get your say in your way
hold tight, do not let go for your chances may slip away
leaving you feeling sorry, lost, disappointed, afraid you
 missed your call, let it drift away, it may be a long wait
for another remarkable, lucky, happy, outstanding day.
