COMPULSIVE EXTREMES

In nature as in man
under certain conditions
evolving under stress and time
a period of intense pressure arises
resulting in compulsive extreme behavior.

In nature various actions function
as relief for such situations,
volcanoes of varying intensities
earthquakes of different magnitudes
other more subtle actions constantly occur.

Man too has a variety of responses,
some with violent intent result in tragedy
others more indirectly planned and executed
still have as its central core and ultimate purpose
the continued preservation of power and control.

The innate need for this human vanity
is to be found everywhere throughout society
seeping from family to corporations, institutions,
to local, county, state, federal and national levels
all with the aim to dominate, regulate, impose and rule.

To perpetrate these goals and objectives
a whole retinue of human characteristics is used,
deceit, untruths, threats, denials, just to mention a few
together with legal support, laws amended or changed
driven by extreme behavior to hold on, not give up.


Yet, over time corrections are made
whether individually, family or society,
divorces, trials, elections, wars won or lost
all mitigate the dangers through abuses caused
often taking years to accomplish but in the end
resulting in a better future, a more promising tomorrow.
