Changes in our environment
changes in our surroundings
changes in our mores,  our views,
forced upon us as reaction to the
rapid pace of innovation in all fields of
scientific, technological applications
now sweeping the world, causing
constant adjustment and correction.

All this is very hard on most of us
since we normally do not like change,
we naturally prefer a stable situation
one that does not necessarily upset the
balanced nature that resides within us,
yet no relief is possible, since our base of
knowledge is doubling in compressed time
causing an ever widening gap between
those who are able to keep up and
those who are left behind.

As if that were not bad enough,
there is also an internal change
that haunts and taunts most of us,
the cumulative result of our life's
experiences, the amassed history
of our many sensory inputs, the
emotional imprints left on our id,
our psyche, our ego, our persona;
most of us recognize that we have
changed, are not the same person
we were some years ago -
time, experience, maturity, wisdom,
have had their impact and altered us.
