As our seasons fluctuate
Having their own characteristics
We prepare to accommodate each
Based on our prior experiences.

There are variations,
For each season may have surprises
Causing natural disasters resulting in
Havoc or unexpected consequences.

Our lives too
Are reflective of periodic patterns,
Plans and routines which we adhere to
When all goes well we are satisfied, content.

When natural disasters strike
Many agencies band together
Providing relief, food, shelter
To alleviate pain and suffering.

When man made disasters strike
Assistance and help is often
Fragmented and cumbersome
Leaving it up to people to do the best they can.

Many have extended help
To their families, relatives, friends
Negatively affecting their resources
On occasion resulting in their personal disaster.

As witness to one such incident
A plan to sell the last asset
Is anticipated in late spring
Permitting the sharing of any gains.
