LOST LOVE

Once upon a time I loved one
but I lost my lover.
He found another
who he loved more.

Many, many years
I felt deeply wounded -
In this time my door would been open
if he came back to me.

Today I know what happened
those days long ago,
I could not change
another person's feelings.

Life often is that way,
a couple meets
loves each other
shorter or longer.

Fortunate is the couple
who can own their love affair
and be together
a long life.

These couples are gifts of the Gods.
