A LASTING IMPRESSION

The night was cool
the moon was full
we parked our cars
at a convenient spot
motors and lights on
to wish a good night.

We exited, came together
smiled gently and hugged
just stood there hanging on
not wanting to let go, to part
instead with our heads together
savored the closeness of our hearts.

Then suddenly, impulsively
a tender, warm, delightful kiss
followed speedily by another
of greater intensity and duration,
it felt like love had overtaken us
with tight hug - a long, long kiss,
as reluctantly we pulled apart -
a lasting impression for my heart.
