A BOOST FOR LOVE

It’s true that
Other months outrank you
Yet one day in mid February
Love may be in full bloom.

From Kindergarten
To the other side of the scale
Thoughts of caring and love
Are by the multitude exchanged.

Is it tradition or hearsay
It hardly matters these days
Confection loaded heart shaped boxes
Or long stemmed bouquets of roses
To the intended will find their way.

Not everyone will participate
Though those who do
May be happier to have someone
To express their affections to.

Let us therefore resolve
To keep this tradition in sway
For we really need more such days
To give our affection, our love, away.
