She first saw me in Spring
when we met on a matter of faith,
returned, to clarify some time
later
more discussions, set a new date.
We next compared our poetry
while introducing ourselves properly,
our meetings friendly but distant,
there was - a hands off policy.
As Spring slowly into Summer
turned
our understanding clearer as
to terms-
a more serious relationship occurred,
with 'love from afar' a concept
unheard.
Summer progressed, heat had
its effects
melting some concerns,constraints
away.
We began to gently hold our hands
partway
by the time Fall came, we even
hugged,hooray!
Fall brought the matter of hearts
into play
we began to take a spiritual
path to love,
falling leaves colored our ways
we still met, 'love from afar'
meant a hard day.
Winter brought an unexpected
respite
a major misinterpretation of
something said,
several months elapsed before
amends were made,
a long Winter once more with
Spring exchanged.
We resolved not to make the
same mistakes,
worked on ways to establish firmer
dates -
Spring fever had gotten a hold
of us.
as we anticipate the happy month
of June.
